Original and Retro-Style. Eine wundervolle Alternative (oder Ergänzung, je nach Sichtweise) zum Fasching: Georgia kommt aus dem englischen Essex, ist 26 Jahre alt und hat eine unglaubliche Stimme. Die BBC sagt: »This girl is supercool. Just a nano second ahead of the pulse«. Ihre erste Deutschland-Tour führt sie auch ins Limeskastell!

Ihre Musik ist absolut moderner Retro-Jazz-Swing-Pop. Beeinflusst von Musikern wie Paloma Faith, Amy Winehouse, Billie Holiday und Louis Palma gehen die ansteckenden Melodien von Georgias Songs sofort »in die Beine« und man fragt sich, warum man von dieser Künstlerin mit den nachdenklichen Liedtexten noch nie etwas gehört hat? 2019 haben Georgia Crandon & Band begonnen, ihren Bekanntheitsgrad zu steigern, indem sie, teils als Support Band, 50 Konzerte vor tausenden von Menschen im Vereinigten Königreich gespielt haben. Darunter auch ein Auftritt in der »Royal Albert Hall« und bei mehreren namhaften Festivals.

Bio

»I’m Georgia Crandon, 26, singer/songwriter from Essex and I gig with my band. I grew up listening to soul, Motown, reggae and all that stuff. I used to be well into musical theatre and that’s what introduced me to jazz. Training in theatre got me listening to Cole Porter and Gershwin, songs that I recognised from singers like Ella and Billie. I gave up on the theatre thing when I realised that I was less interested in the dance routines and more interested in the Ray Charles tunes they were dancing to. That's when I started gigging and writing my own songs.

Since then I’ve released three EP’s, all have had airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing and local BBC Radio shows such as Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and Kent, plus a tonne of online radio stations. And so far I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing people. My first EP 'The Girl' featured Dave Swift (Jools Holland R&B Orchestra) on bass and my second EP 'El Reco' featured some toasting from Neville Staple (The Specials). Now, my latest EP ‘Go Funk Yourself’ was produced by Mo Pleasure (Earth, Wind & Fire) and features John Waugh on saxophone (The 1975), which ain’t too bad for a Loughton girl.

I’ve been lucky enough to perform at some badass venues too, such as Cafe De Paris, Upstairs at Ronnie Scotts, Quaglinos, The Bulls Head - Barnes, The Dublin Castle, Half Moon Putney and a recent spot at my local Brentwood Festival. I’m always out and about in Essex and London, gigging regularly in Shoreditch and Soho. TV appearances include London Live and Vintage TV Christmas Sessions which was pretty cool.
